Proudly on display at the Subaru Wicked Big Meet at Stafford Motor Speedway in CT. All three generations had license plates, so they must somehow be street legal. Probably...

The tag number AUTO-X is was last registered to a 2009 Subaru WRX in New Hampshire.

You can get plates on a non-federally compliant car as long as the local laws are lenient enough. But if the feds find your car hasn’t met the federal regulations they can seize it. I had an ex-friend who bought an R33 back when I was in high school about 7 years ago and he managed to have it registered in the state (OR) because they area we lived in didn’t require emissions testing and all that. It did not live long with him though when he got busted for street racing.

Yeah, New Hampshire license plates never come out well in photos. Probably intentional: the cool background design disappears when traffic cameras take a photo, making it easier to read the plate.

But what about the dash?

The dash doesn’t count in license plates. I used to have this plate with the number M-B-W. It was read simply as MBWCF

Apparently there have been several R34 Skylines that have been legalized here... Saabkyle04 did a video with one. Not sure how the R33 got here though, unless it’s a Motorex car that hasn’t been seized.

The R32 is probably a 1989-1990 car making it legal, the R33 could be a Motorex car possibly making it legal, and Motorex did import about 20 R34’s and this one could very well be a Motorex car, or it could be illegal.

Lets see what Skylines are really registered as!
1DBMAD2 in Virginia
45629 in Washington
717 LAC in Florida
GODZILA in VA

GODZILA was the only one which pulled a vin, for a 2010 Nissan GTR. The rest wouldn't pull up anything, which means they may actually be registered to Skylines.
